From Villaromar it would take around 15 minutes to reach the new coastal path, along the Mijas beaches.  All year long you will be able to walk or use a bike on this new coastal stretch, a few meters from the sea shore.

The first phase of the coastal path of Mijas is now a reality.  inaugurated on Wednesday, November 12th. The fact is that the project has raised great expectation and days before its inauguration many residents had already come to enjoy it and know it. 

Built with treated wood along much of its route, the path has distorted the least possible the landscape of the Mijas beaches, giving the opportunity to citizens of get to know again or for the first time, a coastline sometimes unknown due to its complex terrain.  The coastal path is a project that has won the hearts of all who live in Mijas.

The President of the supra entity also expressed himself in similar terms and praised the “determination of the mayor to build a huge Mijas (Mijas Inmensa)”, while emphasizing that the Mijas project will be incorporated “to the provincial coastal path, which in the years to come will join the 180 kilometers between Manilva and Nerja”. 

The President of the Association of businesses of La Cala and Mijas Costa, highlighted the positive results of the path for the local economy, revealing the extensive catering offer on the coast of Mijas, while the President of the Association of Residents of La Cala, , like so many ordinary The coastal pathway is a personal determination of the Mayor of Mijas Mr. Nozal, who, on hearing about the interest of the Provincial Council to invest in Mijas, did not doubt for a minute about suggesting this project. 

This first stretch has required an investment of 2 million Euros, financed entirely by the Council. Thanks to this investment, an original pathway has been built along a little more than five kilometers of coast in Mijas, between La Cala and Marbella.  people, was thankful for “a project that will positively affect the health and welfare of the citizens”.
